The final Agenda item at the All Saints’ APCM this year was “Thank-yous to two special people” who have both put in a lifetime of service both to the church and the wider community. Churchwarden Audrey Parkes made a presentation to Lawrence Croucher, whose many duties as Sacristan had included managing the use of the burial plots in the churchyard.   Vera Perry received a cake, specially baked by his wife, from Churchwarden John Ledbury, who, in his remarks to her, included the observation that she was one of those rare people who are loved by everybody. Inevitably, Vera had the final word ... or two ...
