www.wrington.net Concert in aid of the tower appeal A major task of fundraising was set by the need for considerable repairs to the church bell tower. This concert made a truly substantial contribution to defraying the financial cost, but, far more than that, it provided a packed church audience with an evening’s entertainment of the highest quality which they are unlikely ever to forget. Three brilliant young musicians, already well on their way to becoming outstanding performers of their generation, gave of their time and talents, generously and with great good humour and moments which touched the heartstrings. Sarah-Jane Davies, soprano, and Ben Johnson, tenor, served up a menu of solos and duets drawn mainly from opera. Pianist Sebastian Wybrew, gave most sympathetic accompaniment, plus an outstanding solo of his own - Debussy’s Claire de Lune.  The evening testified to the dedicated preparation by Churchwarden, John Ledbury and his wife, Pat.
