Boutique on the Corner was opened in December 2013. Profits from the shop are donated to Weston Hospicecare who provide free care to people who have been diagnosed with a life-limiting illness. Everything for sale has been donated to the charity by people from across North Somerset. As items are donated, the shop can pass savings onto customers, whilst still ensuring profits can be passed back to the charity to be spent on palliative care for local people.                                 Village boutique to change opening hours and offer discount to customers                    With summer evenings well and truly on their way, Boutique on the Corner in Wrington has adjusted its opening hours to open late two nights a week. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the shop, which sells boutique clothing and accessories at charity shop prices will stay open until 6pm. Local customers should also look out for a discount flyer, dropping on their doorsteps this month. The flyer entitles customers to a 10% discount in the store. If you live outside Wrington and do not receive a discount flyer, present your copy of the Wrington Journal at the till to take advantage of the 10% discount.                                                                                           ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Wrington Community Hub Support for when you are coping with an illness, caring for a loved one or struggling with grief. Talk to others who are facing, or have experienced, similar life challenges, get advice on seeking help. Our group meets weekly to discuss hopes, fears, difficulties and concerns. Everyone is welcome. We look forward to seeing you. Currently Weston Hospicecare is supporting 40 of your neighbours through life-limiting illnesses, helping their families to care for them and face the prospect of losing them. Over 25 years we have learnt there is no better way to cope with the enormity of this than by letting those around you help. Our community hub gives you the opportunity to talk about coping with a serious illness, death, loss and caring. You may be experiencing it now, or have already been through it and feel you can help others; whatever your circumstances, the hub is a place to share your thoughts, feelings and experiences and face them together. Can you help? Come along if your experiences, knowledge or skills could benefit those struggling in your community. Caring for a loved one? Maybe you need to speak to someone else who understands the emotional and physical complexities of caring for a loved one. Or perhaps you want help with daily tasks so you can have some time to be you for a bit. Diagnosed with a serious illness? You may want to talk to someone about your options for care, what it means for your future, or your fears of dying. Lost a loved one? Perhaps you're feeling lonely or struggling with your new situation. Members of Weston Hospicecare's team are also on hand to offer support and guidance. Let's build communities together.                                                            About Weston Hospicecare Founded by the community in 1989, Weston Hospicecare (Registered Charity No. 900328), provides physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual care to local people with life-limiting illnesses such as cancer, motor neurone disease and heart or lung failure. The Hospice’s care reaches out to local people in Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset and border areas of Somerset providing a safe haven and source of comfort and guidance to every single person who needs it. The Hospice consists of a day hospice, a ten bed In-patient Unit, a team of Hospice Community Nurse Specialists, Hospice at home, chaplaincy and bereavement services. These complementary services work in harmony to ensure patients receive excellent specialist care, be that at home or in the Hospice, and that they and their families are cared for and reassured throughout the toughest experience they will ever face. All of this is provided free of charge and it costs nearly £3 million every year to keep the Hospice doors open, of which only 19% is funded by the NHS. The rest is raised each year through the generosity of the local community, fundraising events, partnerships with local companies, the hospice lottery and via the network of Hospice shops.
